In St Mark’s Primary School, we strive to ensure that the children we teach are equipped with skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work. To provide children with these skills, our Enterprise Coordinator Mrs Mabel Barrie organised a packed week of visitors to our school, to allow children an insight into the World of Work.
The school were delighted to welcome parents, friends and families, as well as the local community Police, the Ambulance Service and Fire Service. We also had visitors form Santander Bank, Officers from HMRC Shotts Prison, Occupational Therapists, an Aircraft Engineer, the SPCA, the Merchant Navy, Bella the Cow and Julie Innes, a vet.
The World of Work is organised every year during the month of November, to offer the children, across all stages, an opportunity to listen to and have a brief experience of a variety of jobs and occupations.
